The second weekend of June (12th - 13th) the Conrail Historical Society along with Brian's Model Trains will hold the f Ride the Rails for Cancer Caboose Rides. This event will take place at Hoffer Park in Middletown, PA coinciding with the Middletown June Arts and Craft Fair.
We are offering a four mile round trip caboose ride from Hoffer Park to Frey's Grove. This 20 to 30 minute trip on the Middletown and Hummelstown Railroad travels along the path of the historic Union Canal through the beautiful Swatara Creek Valley.
Along with the arts and craft fair, this will make an enjoyable day for the whole family with plenty to do and good food to eat.
Saturday June 12, 2010 we will operate from 11:00am to 5:00pm with departures approximately every half hour.
Sunday June 13, 2010 will start at 12:00pm and run through 4:00pm with the same schedule.
The cost to ride the rails is only $5.00 per person, under age 5 is $1.00.
All proceeds from the caboose rides will be donated by the Conrail Historical Society to Vickie's Angel Walk. Vickie's Angel Walk is a non-profit organization that helps cancer victims with financial burdens during difficult times.
